Princeton, NJ — SUI (Sensors Unlimited, Inc.), part of Goodrich Corporation, a supplier of shortwave infrared (SWIR) imaging sensors and camera systems, is now shipping the ultra-compact and lightweight (less than 90g) SU320KTX-1.7RT cameras in volume quantities. Originally developed for the U.S. Army's Soldier Mobility and Rifle Targeting System, the miniature KTX is now available for both industrial and military applications. The indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) shortwave infrared camera is designed for low-light conditions and day/night operation, imaging in partial starlight to direct sun illumination.

Available as either an OEM imaging module (<3.8 in.³) or enclosed in a robust housing (<10.1 in.³), both camera packages include a C-mount lens adapter and lens. SUI's KTX delivers clear, real-time video images with the highest sensitivity available in the 900 nm to 1700 nm wavelength with a 320 x 240 pixel format on a 40-micron pitch focal plane array. It offers 12-bit images and wide dynamic range for image processing and transmission via EIA-170 and Camera Link® digital output.

The high quantum efficiency SWIR KTX camera is suitable for all low-light-level imaging tasks including imaging spectroscopy, astronomy, covert and fixed-site surveillance, laser applications, emission microscopy and machine vision systems. Shipping now in OEM quantities, the KTX is also ideal for easy integration into unmanned aerial and ground vehicles, robotic, portable and other handheld systems.
