Sight Glass Application Note

A sight glass is a visual observation window used to view or monitor liquid levels and flow within a tank, pipeline, or other pressure vessel. A typical sight glass window is made up of a thick borosilicate glass, soda lime glass, quartz, or sapphire depending on the needs for each application. When selecting a sight glass substrate, glass characteristics such as thermal shock, corrosion, abrasion, pressure, and impact tolerance should be considered. Download the application note for more characteristics of sight glasses, as well as how to choose the best substrate based on application requirements.
