Raptor Photonics, a global leader in the design and manufacture of high performance digital cameras is launching a new exciting range of CCD cameras for fluorescence applications at Photonics West 2014. Based on the new breed of Sony sensors, developed using Sony ExView HAD II sensor technology, (ICX674, ICX694, ICX814) these cameras offer a choice of resolutions (2.8MP, 6MP and 9MP) and are available in both mono and RGB. With pixel size of 4.54µm, these sensors provide ultra-sharp images.
The cameras come in a range of formats, each offering different features for their intended users:
The Kingfisher V is a vacuum deep cooled (Δ-111°C) CCD, offering ultra-low read-out noise of <3e-s and almost negligent dark current, in fact 1 electron per every 16 minutes, making it the perfect camera for longer exposure staring applications such as fluorescence, bioluminescence and astronomy.
The Kingfisher Standardis stabilized cooled CCD offering excellent readout noise of <7e-s and low dark current in a rugged and compact design.
The Kingfisher OEM is a board level camera available uncooled or with custom cooling options. The sensor is detachable enabling easy replacement with various resolutions.
The Kingfisher range all offer true 16 bit scientific resolution, runs at variable speeds up to 20fps, and operates in extreme conditions from -20°C to +55°C. All cameras run using CameraLink interface and work with MicroManager.
According to Mark Donaghy, VP Sales & Marketing “Raptor looked at the various market requirements and designed a suite of products to address each area, with a high end, a mid-market and an OEM offering. We are delighted with the response we have had so far from customers, these cameras are generating ultra-sharp images.
