Photonics West '99 Student Travel Grants

Photonics Online, in conjunction with VerticalNet Inc., is pleased to announce the first annual Photonics West student travel grant program. We will be awarding three $700 grants to students who will be attending the Photonics West conference in San Jose, CA. The funds are intended to defray travel expenses. A similar competition is planned for CLEO '99.

Emphasis in the competition will be placed on candidates presenting papers, but the competition is open to all attending students enrolled in an optics, engineering, or physics program worldwide. To apply, students will need to submit an application form, a copy of their paper abstract, and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member. Electronic or fax submission is preferable to surface mail.
