Considering High Dynamic Range Global Shutter CMOS Sensors

CMOS Image sensors with a global shutter are ideal for a variety of applications including factory automation, unmanned aerial vehicles, and automobile advanced driver-assistance systems. For these applications, CMOS imaging sensors with a global shutter are used to avoid image degradation caused by rolling shutter distortion.

Advances In CMOS Image Sensors And Associated Processing — Part 1

New technology has exploited a large 35 mm full-frame CMOS image sensor with spatial sampling of 1920 (H) x 1080 (V) to acquire a distinctively large photosite of 19 um x 19 um, which enabled development of an HD camera with unprecedented sensitivity.

Video: Imaging In Persistent Aerial Surveillance And Reconnaissance Applications

In this video, Mike Leaning discusses the importance of high-resolution imaging for applications involving aerial surveillance and reconnaissance.

Advances In CMOS Image Sensors And Associated Processing — Part 2

Part two of this series describes advancements in CMOS sensors and processing focusing on a new 35 mm CMOS image sensor developed to support origination of high-dynamic-range motion imagery. Also covered are two separate photodiodes within each photosite, essential for achieving the 15-stop dynamic range and supporting a unique in-sensor phase detection strategy that closes a focus control loop around the cine lens.
