Spotlight On SPIE Photonics West 2018

Each year, our industry produces significant breakthroughs. In 2017, a viable quantum programming language was created, microscopy was sharpened to focus on individual nanostructures, and laser-based weed control set out to eliminate herbicides. The seeds for many such technologies are planted through panel discussions, workshops, and hallway conversations each year at Photonics West.

In 2018, the optics and photonics community’s largest event will expand on themes that were covered last year — virtual/altered/mixed reality has evolved from a panel discussion in 2017 to an all-day conference in 2018 — as well as explore emerging technologies, such as those driving advances in autonomous mobility and at-home healthcare. This newsletter presents news and product information from participating companies and organizations; for more in-depth coverage, visit our Photonics West Resource Center.
