The DPQ-4 Track laser position monitor is a unique digital instrument that works with our broadband DPQ Pyro Quad probes to measure the movement, position or displacement of a pulsed, CW or Quasi-CW laser. Measurements can be made in relative terms for any source and in absolute units (mm) for uniform Gaussian Beams. This is achieved using our unique calibration software. DPQ-4Track displays power or energy, and position of the beam centroid and history of movement.

Track or measure the position of your Pulsed or CW laser beam from UV to Far IR and THz

Our new Model DPQ-4Track was designed to support the use of our Broadband Pyroelectric Quadrant Position Sensors …DPQ-9 and DPQ-20. It features 4 CH, multiplexing, digital electronics that measures the pulse energy or CW power on the four quadrant detector elements, computes the sum and difference in two axis, to provide normalized X and Y position data on a millisecond time scale. It has 5 decades of range from 2 uJ to 20 mJ or 20 µW to 200 mW depending on the probe used. It includes an external trigger input and analog output that can be selected to show a single channel or all four. This is a handy set up and diagnostic tool.

The position resolution is selectable from 1.0 mm to 0.001 mm (i.e. 1 µm). With averaging turned on a displacement of a few micrometers can be achieved. Use DPQ-4Track to align your laser and optics, to monitor movement, or to measure laser beam steering over time and temperature. Our Pyro Quad Detectors work where Lateral Effect and Quad Silicon detectors won't!

The combination of our Pyroelectric Quad Detectors and DPQ-4Track Digital Position Monitor allows you to measure the displacement or position of pulsed or CW lasers from DUV to Far IR and THz. Pulses can be from fsec to µsec long, from µJ to mJ, and a single pulse or 1000 pps. CW and Quasi CW sources (high rep rate) in the µW to 200 mW range can be measured. These sources require use of an optical chopper (like our SDC-5000) running at 40 to 50 Hz.

DPQ-4Track comes with stand alone LabView Applications Software that is used to control the instrument and to display the pulse energy, power and position measurements. The Software includes a unique position calibration feature for circular, near Gaussian laser beams (more details to follow) . Other Features include setting a Boundary or Target, Tracking History, Pulse or Data Averaging, Set to Zero and many more.
