Accurate non-contact temperature measurement is important to many manufacturing processes such as additive and subtractive manufacturing. As an alternative to the challenging method of single wavelength thermography, hyperpixel array hyperspectral imaging can acquire images at multiple (generally three or more) optical wavelengths. This white paper discusses the use of infrared spectrum hyperpixel array imagers in additive and subtractive manufacturing temperature measurement, the issues that are involved, and the results of multiple analyses on the method.
