The Government Funding Session on Wednesday at SPIE Defense, Security, and Sensing (DSS) featured four presentations from different agencies. One of the highlights came from Richard S. Matlock, program executive for advanced technology at the Missile Defense Agency, who mentioned that the agency will be making significant investments over the next few years in technologies such as infrared detector material, space-based sensors, image processors, and high-energy lasers.

At the plenary session, Bruce Carlson, director of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), gave an overview of NRO activities since the early 1960s, talked about current worldwide threats, and discussed the office’s most recent budget submission requirements. Photron Highlights Military Applications Of Fastcam-SAX High-Speed Camera
Andrew Bridges, director of sales and marketing at Photron, shows us the new Fastcam-SAX high-speed camera and discusses its ability to record megapixel resolution of 1000 x 1000 at up to 12,500 fps. He also discusses its application in the military market, and other markets as well.
SWIR Camera For Applications Requiring Small Size, Weight, And Power (SWaP) Demoed
Bob Jones, business development manager at Sensors Unlimited - Goodrich ISR Systems, shows us the GA640C-15 SWIR Camera.
