DSI's UltraBlock UV Filters are multi-layer, all dielectric thin film coatings on standard 3.3 mil borofloat glass that are used for managing ultraviolet light generated by high wattage optical light source systems, and are designed to separate the damaging ultraviolet rays from the visible light. The ultraviolet light is reflected by the UV filter, while the visible spectrum is transmitted through the optic. These products are made by DSI's proprietary MicroDyn® reactive sputtering process, which provides levels of performance, durability, and stability far better than previously available from other sources.

Applications:
UV Filters are used in a variety of applications where it is essential to exclude UV radiation, including LCD and film projectors, entertainment lighting systems, medical instruments, fiber optic lighting systems, printers, enlargers, photo etching, materials aging, lighted switches, instrument panel lighting, and similar systems. The superior durability and temperature capability of DSI's UltraBlock UV Filters make them particularly suitable for systems with high intensity sources, or where the system is exposed to extremes of temperature and humidity.
