Pedestal bases provide a strong and secure method for the mounting of mirrors and other sensitive optics. A range of different component holders can be attached to the top of the pedestal by means of a screw. An 8-32 or M4 screw can be threaded into the top or bottom of the pedestal directly. Pedestal heights can be varied to compensate for different diameter components and provide a common center-height. The complete pedestal/mount assembly can then be flexibly attached to a breadboard or optical table by means of a disc or fork clamp (provided with captive screw). Alternatively, a screw or stud may be inserted into the base of the pedestal so that it can be attached directly to a base.
