The Sarnoff Corporation, through sponsorship with the US Air Force Phillips Laboratory, has developed mid infrared (2 micron to 2.7 microns) lasers utilizing AlGaAsSb/InGaSb multi quantum well structures.
The Sarnoff Corporation, through sponsorship with the US Air Force Phillips Laboratory, has developed mid infrared (2 micron to 2.7 microns) lasers utilizing AlGaAsSb/InGaSb multi quantum well structures. Devices already in the field are being utilized for gas sensing, LIDAR and optical pumping. Broadened waveguide devices have been fabricated with CW output powers of 1.2W. Linear arrays have shown efficiencies of 0.13W/A with output powers of 11W.
