High power laser mirrors are designed for specific laser wavelengths where low wavefront distortion, low scattering, high reflectivity, and high damage threshold are required. These multilayer dielectric mirrors are specifically designed and manufactured using an Ion Assisted Deposition (IAD) coating process to produce laser mirrors with the highest tolerance to incident laser energy. Using an IAD coating process yields a High Reflection coating that is more dense, has less stress, is more durable and therefore exhibits higher laser damage threshold than mirrors made without IAD. Our computerized coating process also ensures that run to run performance variances are minimized.
The substrates for these high power mirrors are precision polished to eliminate sub-surface micro structure, yield surfaces better than λ /10 flatness and 10-5 surface quality. Standard diameters are one-half inch, three-quarter inch, one inch, and two inches. Standard wavelengths include 1064, 1054, 532, 355, and 266nm. For Ultra-Violet Optics turn to page 37. These mirrors are designed for use at 45 degree angle of incidence. Custom designs are available for angles other than 45 degrees.
