Datasheet: HeatBuster® High Temperature Cold Mirror
The DSI High Temp Cold Mirror (HTCM) coating can be applied directly onto a HID lamp or onto an arc envelope to separate the heat energy (IR) from the useful visible light – making the lamp envelope the reflector. The heat energy (IR) is transmitted by the cold mirror and the visible light is reflected by the optic. These coatings are required to survive a substrate temperature of above 1000° C over the life of the component. DSI's standard HTCM meets these requirements and has a continuous operating temperature of 1000° C.

Applications:
HTCM coatings are generally deposited onto ceramics, synthetic sapphire and fused silica substrates. These coatings
reflect visible wavelengths and transmit infrared wavelengths. With a cold mirror in place, the visible portion of the light
spectrum is directed into it's desired path and the heat energy from the infrared wavelengths are passed through and
absorbed into the reflector.
