Spatial Light Modulators
As their name would indicate, spatial light modulators modulate light according to a fixed pixel, or spatial, pattern. Meadowlark Optics manufactures and sells three different variations of these modulators to address a variety of photonics-based applications.
The XY Series of Spatial Light Modulators are designed for typical optical laboratory environments. They feature:
- 256 x 256 or 512 x 512
- Phase, Amplitude or Combined
- High Speed Phase Modulation (up to 500 Hz)
- High Efficiency (up to 95%)
- Low Phase Ripple
- Minimal Crosstalk
- High Optical Resolution
The linear series of spatial light modulators are ideal for beam steering and printing applications. They use standard Liquid Crystal (LC) on CMOS technology and feature:
- 1 x 12,288 Pixels
- High optical efficiency
- No mechanical motion
- High speed phase control
- Safe, low voltage operation
- User-friendly graphical interface
Lastly, Meadowlark Optics has begun offering engineering evaluation samples of their polarization independent liquid crystal on silicon spatial light modulators (LCoS SLM). They’re well suited for flexible-grid fiber telecommunication networks, enhanced microscopy, and high-resolution adaptive optics. They feature:
- 256 x 256 Format
- Doubles Your Efficiency
- Analog Phase Operation
- Efficiently Diffracts Randomly Polarized Light
- Insensitive to Polarization variation
- Diffracts LED light
- Works up to 1550 nm
