Smart Fiber Optics For Use In Modern Radiology

Source: SCHOTT North America, Inc.

3-D x-ray devices are used in dental offices and in surgical operating rooms by taking a series of photos and arranging them on a screen as a continuous image sequence. This modern radiology technique opens up new diagnostic possibilities, enables difficult surgical procedures, and significantly improves changes of success. Sophisticated dynamic or 3-D x-rays would be impossible without using state-of-the-art flat image detectors that feature fast CMOS sensors. To support this trend, RoHS-conforming fiber optic plates are offered with high transmission and x-ray attenuation. Download the article for more information.
