Qioptiq Introduces Predesigner App And Winlens 3D

Qioptiq now offers as a module to their optical design software WinLens™ 3D as an app for Android mobile phones and tablets — free of charge, in the Google Play Store. All of the functions in PreDesigner have easy-to-use touchpad controls, for basic preliminary views and calculations in the field.

The new app is ideal for performing fast calculations directly in the optical lab. PreDesigner is an excellent tool for physics students, too. Optical equations and basic principles can be visualized on a tablet computer, for faster and more effective learning.

The complete software suite is available in two models: the freeware WinLens 3D Basic, and the full-version WinLensTM 3D, available for purchase, which comes with the Tolerancer for observing tolerances in optical systems, the Glass Manager for selecting optical glasses and the Material Editor for defining specific optical materials. The software features an intuitive user interface and produces highly informative diagrams and tables.
