Photo-Structurable APEX Glass: A Revolutionary Material For Next Generation Micro-Devices

3DGS Parts Photo-2

3D Glass Solutions has developed a photo-structural glass that revolutionizes the ability to produce precision 3D features in glass for next generation micro-devices. APEX Glass is an optical quality glass ceramic material that is ideally suited for a number of advanced photonic, optoelectronic, and RF electronic packaging applications. Unlike traditional manufacturing approaches, APEX Glass is manufactured using a simple three step process of Expose, Bake, and Etch. This simple process enables cost effective high volume solutions in glass.

APEX Glass is used extensively for the development of Through Glass Vias for I/Os, optical windows and cavities. With APEX Glass it is easy to integrate Through Glass Vias, fiber optic trenches, turning mirrors and optical wave guides onto a single electronic package. Critical dimensions from 25 microns and up can be fabricated featuring anisotropic profiles.

From back-of-the envelope design to high volume manufacturing, 3D Glass Solutions provides our customers with a one-stop shop for the design, prototyping, and production of low to high volume manufacturing. We work closely with our customers to optimize their designs to maximize the value of APEX Glass for their product needs. For more information, visit www.3DGlassSolutions.com.

We will be exhibiting at SPIE Photonics West, 4-6 February, 2014 -Booth # 4026 in the North Hall.
