Source: Teledyne FLIR

According to some researchers, district heating is the cheapest method for a city to make cuts on carbon emissions. District heating is a system that distributes hot water or steam to a centralized residential or commercial location through an underground network of pipes. Maintaining a large district heating network can be a difficult task, so to help large Scandinavian cities to effectively monitor and maintain their district heating networks, the company Termisk Systemteknik has developed a district heating scanning system from the sky, based on thermal imaging cameras from FLIR Systems. Download the article for more on how this system works, the benefits of using it, and plans for further improvements.
