Low Cost Spectrometers: GREEN-Wave Series
The GREEN-Wave series of low cost spectrometers by StellarNet provide emission wavelength monitoring/characterization of tunable lasers and LEDs, elemental emissions of plasma and LIBS, thin film thickness measurements and more, all without breaking the bank.
Several different spectrometer models are available in this series; all with varying wavelength ranges, gratings, and slit resolutions. Each model has a dynamic range of 2000:1 with six decades, a 2048 pixel CCD detector, a 400:1 signal-to-noise ratio, and a 14 x 200µm pixel size. GREEN-Wave low cost spectrometers weigh only 14 ounces and measure in at 1x3x5 inches, making them well suited for portable and field applications. The series collectively covers the 350-1100nm range.
In addition to the aforementioned areas of application, these spectrometers (through Bragg grating technology) can perform optical sensing in order to detect temperature, pressure, stress, strain, or other conditions found in bridges, buildings, or even aircraft wings.
