Photomultiplier Tube (PMT) Assemblies: H9530 Series

Source: Hamamatsu Corporation

Hamamatsu Corporation's H9530 series photomultiplier tube (PMT) assemblies are 8-channel, linear array multi-anode PMT assemblies that provide excellent anode uniformity, low cross talk, and high cathode sensitivity. The high performance and overall design of the H9530 Series photomultiplier tube (PMT) assemblies make them well-suited for biomedical fluorescence detection, laser scanning detection, spectroscopy, and environmental monitoring applications.

Two PMT assemblies are available in the H9530 series. The H9530-01 covers a spectral response range from 300 nm to 880 nm, and at 420 nm has quantum efficiency (QE) of 20% and typical cathode sensitivity of 250 µA/lm. The H9530-20 features a spectral response range of 300 nm to 920 nm, and at 630 nm has QE of 17% and typical cathode sensitivity of 500 µA/lm.

Both PMT assemblies are designed with multialkali photocathodes that have a 2.0 mm x 2.5 m effective area per channel, with a channel pitch of 2.8 mm. The H9530 Series photomultiplier tube assemblies provides a typical anode uniformity of 1:1.1 (at -1000 V and the peak wavelength), and low cross talk of 0.1% on each channel. This low cross talk is achieved by using a black borosilicate glass slit faceplate.
