Bern Optics Announces 0.2mm Optical Prisms For Analytical Instrumentation

Prisms

Bern Optics, Inc. recently announced the availability of submillimeter optical prisms with dimensions to 0.20 mm. These precision elements can be custom engineered, ground and polished in a variety of difficult configurations, including optical wedges of any given angle, beam splitter cubes, parallel plates and custom configurations with combinations of plano, spherical or cylindrical faces.

Created from optical and filter glasses with minimal edge chipping, these microscopic elements – some as small as a grain of salt – are used in laparoscopic and endoscopic medical devices, as well as in a variety of instrumentation requiring extremely precise optical components.

Bern Optics can also produce cemented, multi-element prisms with exceptionally accurate alignment and documentation. Custom designed reflective and anti-reflection coatings can be provided on all prisms.
