Aerial Hyperspectral Imaging Camera: OCI-UAV

The OCITM-UAV from BaySpec is an aerial hyperspectral imaging camera designed to acquire VIS-NIR hyperspectral data with continuous spectral and spatial coverage. This series of cameras is meant specifically for use in unmanned aerial vehicles/systems (UAV/UAS), or remotely operated vehicles (ROV). Operation is automatic and requires minimal human intervention, making this imager ideal for many applications including precision agriculture, remote sensing, environmental studies, and security and defense.

The OCITM-UAV features a high-performance, miniature single-board-computer, a data transfer rate up to 120 fps, and automatic data capturing and processing. Its extremely compact and powerful package is significantly reduced in size and weight, offering a straightforward system for simple integration with many AUV/ROVs. Unlike conventional hyperspectral imagers that rely on intensive software for high-quality imaging, the innovative design of the OCI-UAV-1000 features “True Push-broom,” where imagers can move to scan at random speeds, and the OCI-UAV-2000 features snapshot multispectral imaging which eliminates artifacts caused by vibrations in flight.

Key Features Include:

  • Innovative non-slit design significantly reduces system complexity
  • No GPS/IMU needed for ground image construction
  • Real-time ground image preview
  • Ready-to-fly system available with automatic control software
