Orca-Flash 4.0 Scientific CMOS Camera — Changing the Game White Paper
Hamamatsu's Orca-Flash 4.0 includes many new features that will benefit the scientific imaging professional. The Orca-Flash 4.0 Scientific CMOS Camera features high sensitivity with high quantum efficiency (over 70% at 600 nm) and low noise (1.3 electrons) for extreme versatility. With a 100 fps readout at full resolution and up to 25,600 fps with a small region of interest, the user is able to capture fast events such as high-speed calcium ion imaging. The 4.0 megapixel scientific CMOS image sensor allows for a 2.5X larger field of view than that of a standard EM-CCD camera and much finer details can be resolved with the 6.5 x 6.5 µm pixel size. Other features like the multiple external triggers and timing output functions allow for easy synchronization with peripheral equipment. The Orca-Flash 4.0 has optimized cooling and outstanding image uniformity across the entire sensor compared to cameras based on Gen I sCMOS technology.
