High Speed Digital Camera: Phantom v341

Vision Research's "range ready" Phantom v341 High Speed Digital Camera is ideal for applications where high sensitivity and high resolution are needed including Military, Scientific, and Research Applications. Its high resolution timing system yields a timing resolution of better than 20 nanoseconds. The Phantom v341 also provides a 4 megapixel sensor with almost 3 gigapixels/second throughput. That means full-resolution frame rates of 800 frames-per-second (fps), and 2 megapixel 1920x1080 HD-resolution frame rates of 1440 fps. The minimum frame rate is 10 fps.

This "range ready" camera has dual power inputs to protect your data in case of power failure (via battery backup), time code in/out (IRIG or SMPTE), Range Data input, and sports a new reflective color for better temperature stability when used outdoors. Add convenience features like an Internal Mechanical Shutter, Image-Based Auto-Trigger, optional On-Camera Controls, and a CineMag interface, and you have the ideal camera for range applications. Its small size and light weight also makes it ideal for tracking mount applications.

The Phantom v341 High Speed Digital Camera is ideal for situations that require high sensitivity and high resolution. With a peak quantum efficiency of 60%, greatly improved over current sensor designs, and a significant reduction in readout noise, the v341's four megapixel resolution can be used to full advantage at speeds that normally call for large-pixel and lower-resolution cameras. Coupled with 2.5 microsecond straddle time, the camera is perfectly suited for particle image velocimetry (PIV) applications. When utilizing the new Burst Acquisition Mode, the v341 can take a user-selected number of frames after receiving a single frame synchronization pulse. This feature simplifies timing setups for repetitive events such as combustion cycles.

Take the wide view with our custom-designed 2560 x 1600 pixel CMOS sensor. The aspect ratio of the Phantom v341 allows you to keep moving targets in-frame longer and see more of the event you are recording.
