Opto Diode’s On-Shore Wafer Fabrication Plant In Full Production

Opto Diode Corporation announces the completion of its domestic wafer fabrication facility in Newbury Park, California. The company, a global supplier of visible, high power LEDs and IRLEDs, introduced their first line of high performance photodiodes and now offers both silicon photodetectors and gallium aluminum arsenide devices.

Opto Diode's Class 1000 clean room facility and 6" wafer line is now in full production with the completion of their in-house wafer fab. The company offers quick turnaround prototyping services and high-volume production capabilities.

According to Russ Dahl, Director of Sales and Marketing, "Our new facility is ideally designed to produce quick photodiode prototypes. We produce both 100 mm and 150 mm wafers and offer the capability of very high volume production to our customers. Our on-shore facility also gives our customers a clear advantage in low cost, high volume and fast delivery that overseas manufacturers simply cannot match."

Opto Diode delivers excellent responsivity, high volume, and low-cost silicon and specialty photodetectors. The company continues to offer a full catalog of high quality, infrared and visible LEDs, standard and custom products, available now from the Southern California facility.
