Pulsed UV Lasers For Micromachining and Bioinstrumentation

Source: Spectra Physics Ltd.

The Explorer® One™ series of pulsed UV lasers are available in the UV at 349 nm and 355 nm. The 349 nm model provides pulse energies of 60µJ and 120µJ at 1 kHz, while the 355 nm model produces over 300 mW average power at a 50 kHz repetition rate. These pulsed UV lasers are at least 8 times smaller than any competitive product currently available today, making it an ideal choice for system integrators. It also weighs less than 1.5 kg, making it an ideal laser for use on a moving gantry.

This series of pulsed UV lasers are ideal for applications involving laser micro dissection, UV tilting, LIDAR, wafer inspection/marking, thin film scribing, MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, general UV marking, metal marking, intra-glass and glass surface marking, bioinstrumentation and more.

In addition to their ultra-compact size and light weight, Explorer One pulsed UV lasers feature:

  • Superior flexibility – from single shot to 200 kHz
  • Power adjustability- 40 to 100% of maximum power
  • An air-cooled design
  • Rugged and reliable construction
  • Feature righ software and hardware for ease-of-use and simplified integration
  • Pulse energy stability of <3% for stable manufacturing processes
